I have to say that your writing sparked a memory of myself as a somewhat naive and innocent “patriotic” 11 year old. I loved writing and entered an essay contest at my private school. The theme was “What does Americanism mean to Me?” sponsored by no other than the “American Legion”. Known today as “the Legion”; where some “patriotic’” Americans hang out at their local “Legion” (really it’s Just a Bar!).
Well, what a brainwashed young fool was I! My heartfelt essay won the contest and I proudly received a Medal of Honor from the society. At age 11 this “honor” made me proud of my writing as well as my believing I was a good citizen of my wonderful country and a “patriot”. Ha! and Ugh. What this American Legion Writing Contest had to do with helping Veterans, I still wonder.
Yet this is what “they” do. The tactics and propaganda run deep and begins early. They prey on anyone to carry out this false narrative regarding “patriotism”.
Your insight into the truth about the military is appalling. We have been indoctrinated into believing the military is protective and good and we are to revere them in the name of “patriotism” especially “Americanism”.
Apparently even so called noble people will sell their soul for the almighty dollar and/or power and fame. And this applies to any profession meant for serving the benefit of others.
Don’t forget when you “Thank them for their service” that they may be among the ones that pilot the planes that are manipulating the weather and poisoning our earth. Or perhaps they have killed and maimed innocents and more atrocities never mentioned in the name of just following orders. After their tours of duty they come home with PTSD; is it any wonder? I understand that this is a generalization and that most are innocently manipulated and there are many many good men and women among them but a great majority have succumbed to the brainwashing, the bribery, the deception and the incentives to which they are not deserving of any honor.
Love of country and freedom are lies we have all been fed, an illusion to hide the nightmare of the blood of innocents shed for the greed of those who rule over us.
Thanks Gary for shining another light on this awful reality.

ALMOST? Why only ALMOST? What keeps them from creating ALL they want? You? Me? Your dog? A full moon? The only reason for taxes at the federal level is to make you "believe" they need them and to impart value in your mind on fake fiat currency. Did it work?
Federal Reserve Notes are not federal, represent no monetary reserves and no longer conform to the definition of notes. Failing to state who, will pay what, when or to whom - they ceased to be legal tender notes, (offers of money) almost 60 years ago. They are in fact instruments of legalized THEFT.

The Federal Reserve System, created by the Federal Reserve Act of Congress in 1913, is indeed such a “national bank” and it politically manipulates interest rates and holds a monopoly on legal counterfeiting in the United States. This is exactly what Marx had in mind and completely fulfills this plank, another major socialist objective. Yet, most Americans naively believe the U.S. of A. is far from a Marxist or socialist nation. SEE: THANK YOU FEDERAL RESERVE! https://www.courageouslion.us/p/thank-you-federal-reserve

Good morning Mark. I hope this finds you well.
Maybe I should clarify my meaning of ‘tax.’ As far as I am concerned, all money stolen by government, whether direct or not, is in my opinion a tax. The expansion of currency, regardless of the manner of taking, is theft from the proletariat, and thus serves the exact same purpose as taxation. Price inflation is always at the expense of all consumers, savers, and any participating in this society. Dollar devaluation is also paid for in the same manner, and therefore acts as a tax to enrich the few at the expense of the many. Technically speaking, you are of course correct, but all money taken by government by force is a tax of sorts, but the bottom line is that all government expenditures are eventually paid for by all in one manner or another.
My very best to you, Gary

My Uncle Mike was a fireman in the Richfield, Minnesota, fire department from the mid-1950s to the mid-1980s. He had a lot of interesting stories.
One time, his fire truck was responding to a fire in a house. When they came in the door, they saw a man sitting in a chair reading a newspaper. The man said, "The fire's upstairs."
Mike and another fireman went upstairs and put out the fire.
When they came down the stairs, the man was still in the chair reading his newspaper.
Mike said, "We put out the fire."
"Thanks." said the man and continued to read his newspaper.
I feel like that man reading the newspaper while a fire burns upstairs in my house. I've become inured to catastrophic events, even threatening events.
